Heartland just keeps treating us with storyline after storyline, and episode 6 did not disappoint. Aptly titled "Heat of the Moment" - this episode had a lot of moments that were expected whilst others, not so much.
Let's jump into the Heartland episode 6 recap.
The episode begins with Katie on her brand-new scooter/ dirt bike. Elle seems to be a little bit jealous of Katie in front of Brandon. She doesn't seem to be as comfortable on the bike as her friends.
Next, we see Caleb and Amy have a chat before Amy hits the road. Amy admits that she's not excited about going on the road, but Caleb encourages her. She gives him a gift for his first horse, to which he responds with an invite to his at the weekend. I'm waiting to see if there will be this long-awaited romance between Caleb and Amy. Amy did not seem sure about it.
After that scene, we see Amy driving when a haystack falls from the trailer causing her to suddenly stop. She has a completely flat tire, and guess who was just at the right time to save the day? Nathan. She has to put her horse into his trailer and he gives her a lift to the show. Again, Amy doesn't seem sure about this.
Then we jump to a scene with Lisa and Jack where Lisa is planning a speech, as per Dan's family's request. She states that she finds it a little weird that they asked. She starts to reminisce some amazing memories that she had with Dan, including all their arguments, which now she seems to be looking back at with fondness. Perhaps it was the dramatic moments filled with adventure that she misses the most afterall.
Then we jump back to Amy and Nathan on the way to the show. She begins to ask him questions, including why he moved back to town and if he likes it - these questions are met with extremely blunt replies. She then brings up the drama between him and her grandparents, and he responds by saying "That's just business".
Amy then asks if he's going to the reception that will be held that night. He says he will and Amy says she doesn't think she will - this is met with a little playful banter between them. I have to say, there does seem to be a lot of tension between them, outside of their family drama.
The next scene is Amy again (it seems to be her episode this week). She's in her hotel room when Caleb begins to ring her. She tells him Nathan had to drive her. They have a conversation about the rodea reception. Amy agrees to go to the reception just so she isn't alone.
The next scene is with Katie and her grandma. Katie tells her about Brandon and how she thinks he might have a girlfriend. Katie seems to be a little interested in Brandon but she states she's more excited about making friends.
The next scene is at the rodeo with Amy. Nathan comes over to say hey to Amy but she tells him to go back to the girls that he was originally talking to. There still seems to be so much awkward energy between them.
Then, drinks are split on Amy, and Nathan runs over to help. Amy storms off and bumps into none other than Caleb, who has come to surprise her. She needs to go back to the motel to change out of her red wine-stained clothes. Caleb and Amy have a pizza in the hotel room. He leans in for a kiss and is rejected by Amy. There is a knock on the door at the wrong moment and guess who it is? Nathan, of course. He sees Caleb in the hotel room and quickly goes away. Caleb leaves shortly after.
The next scene between Amy and Nathan is while they're training. Amy seems to flirt a little more with Nathan - she's more interested in him than Caleb.
Next is the actual show. Nathan did amazingly, but Amy did not do so well.
Then we skip to Katie, Brandon, and Elle on their dirt bikes. She seems desperate to impress them while trying to jump over a body of water. Elle kind of pressures her into doing it. Katie doesn't jump at the last moment and Elle makes fun of her.
The next scene is Amy and Nathan who seem to have some flirty banter again. Nathan offers Amy advice. I'm beginning to think Amy is starting to like Nathan.
The next scene is Lisa and Jack who are having a dance in a fancy pub after Dan's funeral. They're trying to "live a little". Jack sees a buckle that once belonged to him in a pub, but the owner refuses to sell it back to them. Lisa gambles on a game of pool.
We later see Amy and Nathan in the car talking (flirting). It's here when Nathan admits that he is not in competition with her grandma and grandad.
When Nathan and Amy return to her broken-down truck, Caleb is already changing Amy's tire.
Lisa wins in the game of pool and gets Jack's buckle back. She reveals that Dan taught her how to play pool.
Brandon comes around to see Katie and says sorry for pressuring her. He states that he likes Katie just the way she is. Could this be a new teenage romance?
In the last scene, we have Caleb and Amy who meet. Caleb admits that he has feelings for Amy but they will put in behind them and agree to be friends.
