The earthquake:
The movie begins with two people jogging on the sidewalk of a road. One of them is Ohma Tokita, and the other one is Baki Hanma. At one point, they spot each other from across the road, and an earthquake is felt. A man named Kazuo comes running and tells Ohma that an earthquake is coming, but it goes away on its own.
The history:
Moving forward, a narrator explains the concept of the Underground Arena and how it determines the world’s strongest man. Another narrator describes how the Kengan Association influences the business world, where the strong hold sway. A battle between these two underground fighting organizations is imminent.
The Underground Arena is shown, and Kaede explains its history, which dates back to the Edo period. It was established by the Vice-Shogun of the Realm, Mitsukuni Tokugawa. She further explains its current owner, Tokugawa. Both organizations were established by the same family, and this event has occurred before.
The Competition Begins:
In the next few scenes, several fighters are introduced, sharing their fighting capabilities, muscle-building routines, and work ethics. The details of the competition are discussed among fighters, and different fighters are shown hanging out.
The First Fight:
The first fight begins in a lighted arena surrounded by darkness. The rules of fighting are explained. The fight occurs between Saw Ping Yoroizuka of the Kengan Association and Kaoru Hanayama of the Underground Arena. During the fight, both fighters have flashbacks of how they agreed to the fight. Their respective team members discuss their training styles, strengths, and comment on their fighting techniques. Kaoru emerges victorious in this fight.
The Second Fight:
The next match is between Jack Hammer of the Underground Arena and Raian Kurel of the Kengan Association. The owners, Metsudo Katahara of the Kengan Association and Mitsunari Tokugawa of the Underground Arena, are seen enjoying the match from the sidelines. They comment on the fighters and praise their moves. The fighters on the sidelines realize that it’s a fight to the death, not a normal bout for money or medals. The owners seem to regret putting up this match, witnessing the gruesome fight between Jack Hammer and Raian.
The Final Match :
While both fighters are battling, everyone is concerned that they might kill each other but too afraid to stop the fight. Suddenly, Pickle enters the fight arena. The three of them start fighting, and then Baki Hanma enters the ring, telling his brother to accept defeat and stop fighting. Meanwhile, Ohma tells Pickle to leave the fight as he is not supposed to be in it.
Moving forward, the third and final match is between the Underground Arena’s Baki Hanma and Ohma Tokita (also known as Ashura) of the Kengan Association. Both of them reminisce about their encounter while jogging and express their eagerness for this fight. Other fighters discuss their tricks and techniques while sitting on the sidelines. During flashbacks, Ohma learns details about his opponent, Baki Hanma. He discovers that Baki has been training since childhood, arranged by his mother, and has never lost a fight. Baki is the champion of the Underground Arena. Ohma reacts by saying that he wants to sleep for some time, shocking Kazuo and Kaede. Ohma explains that he must defeat his opponent in his mind before actually fighting him.
Appearance Of Yujiro And Gensai:
The intense fight continues between the two, with everyone appreciating their styles and techniques. They both fall to the ground, shocking everyone. Suddenly, a mysterious figure appears in the fighting arena: Yujiro Hanma. Ohma learns that Yujiro is Baki’s father. Baki tells his father to leave, wanting to finish the fight by himself. In the background, Gensai Kuroki appears. Ohma attacks Yujiro, and Baki attacks Gensai, realizing they are against strong opponents. Mistunari gets up and shouts that they both showed up early in the arena before their assigned time. Metsudo also tells them to leave, as it’s not the time for them to fight. They both exit.
The Result Of The Fight:
Ohma and Baki express their eagerness to fight each other sometime in the future, acknowledging their equal strength and the need for more training. Metsudo announces that the match is a draw since it can’t continue after the interruption. The fight ends with no clear winner, as both the Kengan Association and the Underground Arena won one match each.
The Ending:
Next, Seishu suspects something is wrong, seeing fighters standing in a group amid dense fog in the arena. He gets into a fighting pose, ready to face his opponents.
In the ending scenes , Baki is seen training, and Ohma admits to himself that Baki Hanma is a good fighter. Both of them are shown in the ring, fighting again.
