The episode opens with Del, Kat, and Alice stepping out of the pond, expecting the past but instead finding themselves in the future. They arrive at what appears to be a wedding, surrounded by unfamiliar details that make it clear they’ve traveled forward in time for the first time. Before they can fully process what they’re seeing, the moment shifts, pulling them back into their present timeline where the implications of the pond’s new ability begin to settle in.
Back home, Elliott joins Kat and Alice as they try to make sense of their next step; the focus quickly turns to Elliott’s mother and the unanswered questions surrounding her disappearance. Although hesitant, Elliott agrees to follow the clues connected to her. Their search leads them to a moment in the past where Kat is seen leaving a baby, Elliott, on a doorstep. Present-day Elliott and Alice witness this from a distance, realizing that this moment is directly tied to his past. Elliott struggles to react, caught between wanting answers and the difficulty of facing them.
Time moves forward in Port Haven, where Alice is preparing for her graduation. It has been several months since the last jump, and she is now settled into her life there; she spends time working on a school fundraiser alongside Max, and although their relationship remains complicated, they continue to stay connected. As graduation approaches, Alice is also faced with performing her original song, something she hesitates to do despite encouragement from those around her.
At the same time, Del continues searching her yard, eventually uncovering a time capsule she had buried years earlier with Colton. Inside, she finds a letter she once wrote for her firstborn child. When she reads it aloud to Alice, the words don’t seem to fit until it becomes clear that the letter was meant for Kat, not Alice. As the letter is read, Del begins to recall the emotions and intentions behind it, reconnecting with a memory she had long forgotten.
Elsewhere, Jake is no longer in Port Haven, having left for Toronto and stopped communicating; his absence raises questions, especially after the books he left behind for Alice. Meanwhile, Del encourages Alice to create her own time capsule, suggesting she preserve pieces of her present for the future. Alice follows through with the idea and goes to bury it, but while doing so, she discovers a hidden suitcase that once belonged to Elliott’s mother. Inside, there is a photograph of Elliott with her, giving him a tangible connection to the mother he has been searching for.
The discovery also helps make sense of Fern’s earlier riddles, revealing that her words were pointing toward Elliott’s mother and the truth behind her disappearance. Although Elliott has resisted the idea of jumping again, he finally admits that he wants to go back and find answers.
Later, after an argument with Max, Alice wanders into the living room where an old silent film is playing. The footage shows Port Haven in an earlier era, capturing a time when filmmaking was taking place in the town. As Alice watches, she notices Fern in the film, and then Kat appears on screen as well, confirming that she had traveled back to that time period. Kat and Fern appear visibly distressed in the footage, suggesting that something significant had happened.
In the present, Kat and Elliott attempt to jump together, but the pond does not allow Elliott to go through. Alice, now aware that something is wrong after seeing the film, decides to jump on her own. When she enters the pond, she is sent to a different time than Kat, separating them.
On the other side, Alice and Kat encounter Fern, who appears to be expecting them. She questions them about the time period they’ve come from, indicating that she already understands more about the situation than they do. The episode ends with them in different timelines, leaving their paths uncertain as the mystery deepens.
