The series finale begins with the aftermath of the devastating events that have shattered the Thomas family. Everyone is carrying the weight of recent betrayals and losses, but no one is more determined than Jukebox to learn the truth. After spending days putting the pieces together, she finally gets the confirmation she has been looking for as Flossy tells her that Kanan was responsible for Marvin's death. It left Jukebox stunned, but instead of reacting immediately, she quietly reflects on everything she witnessed over the past few weeks. She remembers seeing Kanan and Raq keeping their distance after Lou-Lou's funeral, then later watching them reconcile outside as they embraced each other. At the time, it seemed like a mother and son repairing their relationship. Now she realizes Kanan had already taken away the man who meant everything to her while trying to rebuild his own family.
Jukebox eventually confronts Kanan face-to-face. Kanan attempts to explain himself, but she refuses to hear excuses; she tells him that killing him would be too easy. Instead, she wants him to experience the same pain she is living with. She wants him to lose everyone he loves and understand what it feels like to have nothing left. Rather than pulling the trigger, she walks away, leaving Kanan to wonder what she intends to do next.
Meanwhile, Kanan begins questioning everything he believed about his mother. After speaking with federal agents, he discovers that Raq has been trying to shield him from prosecution and is even considering making sacrifices to protect him; the information completely changes his perspective. For the first time, he accepts that every terrible decision Raq made came from her desire to keep her son alive. Carrying the guilt of Marvin's death, Lou-Lou's murder, and every choice that pushed his family apart, Kanan apologizes to Raq. He admits he was wrong and tells her he never understood the lengths she was willing to go for him until now. Although Raq accepts his apology, both of them know that the damage cannot simply be erased.
As Kanan struggles with his conscience, another surprise changes his future when Jarita meets with him privately and tells him she is pregnant. Kanan immediately questions whether the baby is his, but Jarita reminds him of their relationship and why there is little doubt about the child's father. Kanan refuses to fully accept the news, but the conversation leaves him realizing that another responsibility is about to enter his life whether he is ready or not.
Elsewhere, Raq searches desperately for a way to survive. Knowing Stefano still holds influence over the streets, she approaches him hoping he will offer protection from Pino. Instead, Pino uses the opportunity to make inappropriate demands, believing Raq has nowhere else to turn. She rejects him and leaves without reaching an agreement, fully aware that time is running out.
Realizing his mother is now a target, Kanan decides he can no longer stand by and watch events unfold. He goes directly to Stefano and asks him to spare Raq's life, Kanan proposes that Raq leave New York permanently and disappear, allowing everyone to move on. Stefano listens carefully before offering the solution. If Raq eliminates Pino herself, she will be allowed to leave the city alive and Stefano will consider the matter settled.
Raq accepts the arrangement because she sees no other path forward. She arranges a meeting with Pino, making him believe they are finally ready to work together. Instead, she catches him off guard and shoots him, ending his life before he has a chance to react. The killing fulfills Stefano's condition, but Stefano himself survives the conflict and remains in control of his organization, while Raq prepares to leave everything behind.
With the immediate danger seemingly behind them, Raq and Kanan finally share an honest conversation. Sitting together, Raq admits she blames herself for every tragedy that has happened. She tells Kanan she should never have allowed him to grow up surrounded by crime and violence. Kanan reminds her that this life was all he ever knew because of the environment he was raised in. Mother and son acknowledge the mistakes that drove them apart, and despite everything that has happened, they find a brief moment of peace together before going their separate ways.
The finale then pauses for an emotional flashback. The story returns to the day Kanan was born, showing a much younger Raq surrounded by Marvin, Lou-Lou and a young Jukebox inside the hospital. The family is together, celebrating the arrival of a new baby. They laugh, smile and look toward the future with hope, completely unaware of the heartbreak waiting for them years later. The memory serves as the last time the Thomas family is shown united before everything eventually falls apart.
Back in the present, another unexpected moment connects Raising Kanan to the future of the Power universe. Two neighborhood kids approach Kanan looking for work; they introduce themselves as Tommy and Ghost, eager to prove they belong in the game. Kanan studies them for a moment before telling them they are still too young and should come back another time. The boys leave, unaware that their paths with Kanan are destined to cross again in the years ahead.
As Raq prepares to finally leave New York behind, Jukebox makes her move. Still consumed by the grief of losing Marvin, she decides that Kanan must feel the same unbearable loss she has endured. She tracks down Raq and confronts her. Before Raq has the chance to escape, Jukebox shoots her. The woman who spent years fighting every enemy imaginable to protect her son collapses from her wounds.
Moments later, Kanan returns home expecting to find his mother preparing for a new beginning. Instead, he walks inside and discovers Raq lying dead. He rushes to her side, but it is already too late. Everything he tried to repair has disappeared in an instant - his apology, his promise to protect her and their plans to leave the city all become meaningless as he realizes he has lost the last remaining member of his immediate family.
The series closes with Kanan standing completely alone. Lou-Lou is gone, Marvin is dead, Raq has been murdered, and Jukebox has become his enemy. The Thomas family that once controlled the streets has been destroyed piece by piece. While Kanan is left to live with the consequences of every decision that led to this moment, the brief arrival of young Ghost and Tommy signals that a new chapter in the Power timeline is only just beginning.
