Rihanna drops trailer for Super Bowl halftime show

Could this answer her fan's prayers and mean that Rihanna is realising new music?

As you might already know, Rihanna is set to be the halftime performer at the Super Bowl. The prestigious position is only handed to the most popular artists - think, Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, and Beyoncé. Much to the delight of fans, Rihanna also dropped a trailer for her performance - something that was sponsored by AppleMusic, again a new for the Super Bowl.

It's hard to decipher whether or not this means that Rihanna will be releasing new music. Optimistic fans are choosing to believe this is exactly what it means. Some have even speculated that she will use her Super Bowl performance as a way to debut her potential new album.

The trailer is artistically shot and addresses the complaints of the world about Rihanna's lack of new music. You hear a loud of voices say things like; "it's been 2,190 days" and The last album we got from Rihanna was ‘Anti’ in 2016”. Then, we see Rihanna shush the voices and Needed Me begins to play.

It's worth noting that Rihanna has said that it's not what it means. But fans are still holding onto hope.
Rihanna hasn't released an album since 2016, it seems she has focused on her fashion and makeup brand a lot more since then. However, there are rumours about a new album - hopefully, this is coming very soon.

Last year's Super Bowl featured an explosive award-winning performance by Snoop Dog, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Bilge, and Dr Dre - a hard act to follow up on but we think she will do amazing.

What do you think of the new trailer? Could it just be for the Super Bowl alone or for something bigger?
