Episode 2 of And Just Like That… Season 3, titled “The Rat Race,” was a fever dream of sequins, sarcasm, and surprise character twists—so where do we go from here in Episode 3? If the past is any indication, buckle up: the fashion will be louder, the men weirder, and the emojis more pointed.
Let’s dissect what we saw last episode and what it could mean for the next.
Still Long-Distance, Still Confused
Episode 2 ended with Carrie finally sending an eye-roll emoji to Aidan after his lackluster thumbs-down on her dream dining table. Will Episode 3 bring resolution—or more radio silence?
Theory 1: Aidan shows up again, possibly unannounced, leading to a more honest conversation (and possibly a shouting match) about what this relationship really is. The man can’t stop flying into New York for vague reasons, and the tension between romance and practicality is palpable.
Theory 2: Carrie may take that eye-roll energy and channel it into something impulsive—perhaps a new romantic prospect or, more likely, a vintage shopping binge to soothe her rat-induced trauma.
Also, with her garden destroyed by exterminators, we might see Carrie forced back into her old haunts—perhaps a callback to her OG apartment or even a sleepover at Seema’s posh pad. Cozy chaos incoming?
Bi Bingo to BBC Reporter?

Miranda has gone from activist lawyer to reality TV addict overnight; her obsession with Bi Bingo may be hilarious, but it’s clearly a cover for deeper confusion. The failed flirtation with the guac girl (straight, married, mother—strike three!) has ignited a spark for something more real.
Theory: Miranda’s text to the BBC reporter may finally blossom into something—an actual date that doesn’t end with her talking about game shows. But will she self-sabotage again? Probably.
Also, could we finally see a Miranda career moment? With Charlotte learning Instagram and Miranda glued to dating apps, someone’s got to be the grown-up.
Charlotte & Lisa - Mom Mode Mayhem
After stalking a college counselor through a public park in couture, Charlotte and Lisa managed to secure a meeting—barely. But Lily locking lips with a ballet boy in the stairwell might derail the entire Ivy League master plan.
Theory: Episode 3 could dig into the generational clash. Will Charlotte crack down on Lily’s “romantic rebellion”? Or will she, in true Charlotte fashion, redirect the chaos into a hyper-planned cultural enrichment schedule?
As for Lisa, the stylish supermom might finally reach her breaking point. Could we be heading toward a career pivot or crisis moment for Lisa?
Also, a personal plea: more Lois, please. Kristen Schaal’s Instagram-obsessed counselor is the chaotic energy this show needs.
Seema vs. The Dating World (And Sydney)

Seema’s fashion was fire, but her dates? Dumpster-level disasters. Sydney (played by Cheri Oteri) read her for filth last episode, and while Seema took it like a champ, she’s clearly rattled.
Prediction: Sydney’s next matchmaking attempt will be another flaming trainwreck, but it could serve a bigger purpose—pushing Seema to stop looking for "a type" and start looking inward. Or, in a fun twist, Seema might actually end up dating Sydney. Stranger things have happened (remember Carrie’s affair with the furniture designer in season 4?).
If nothing else, give us Seema and Sydney as fashion frenemies.
Anthony, Bread, and Background Gags
Anthony made his token appearance last episode to announce his Hotfellas bakery expansion. Expect more abs, baguettes, and hopefully a Hotfellas calendar shoot.
Fan Theory: Could Anthony get a proper subplot? Perhaps a romance of his own or a PR nightmare involving sexy bakers and a vegan protest?
He’s long overdue for some depth beyond carbs and quips.
What Else to Expect in Episode 3
- More rodents? Carrie’s rat saga doesn’t feel over. Maybe she launches a column titled “Rats and the City.”
- Guac Girl Returns – not for Miranda, but maybe as an ally or comic relief?
- A surprise cameo – could Samantha finally send another outrageous text?
- Fashion escalation – If Charlotte wore three belts last episode, she’s wearing four next.
