Two years later, Black Mafia Family Season 2 is finally here, and here's everything you need to know
Black Mafia Family (BMF) is back in town, I have been eagerly waiting for this for two years and the first episode did not disappoint.
For those that don't know, BMF is an excellent tv show that is loosely based on a real story. Meech and Southwest T are the stars of the show. I'm also happy to see that the original cast is still intact.
Meech is leading the 50 Boyz while Terry is trying to live an honest life using his compensation money to start a car service company with his father Charles. B Mickie is now Meech's right-hand man and Detective Bryant is still hot on their heels.
Now that we're all caught up, let's chat about episode one of BMF season 2. Spoilers will commence now.
What happened in BMF Season 2 Episode 1
We see that Meech has taken firm steps into forming a partnership with K-9 - Detroit's prominent drug dealer who has strong connections to the Colombians. This is when the Black Mafia Family forms - commencing the change of name from "Blow Money Fast" to "Black Mafia Family". Ultimately, this is a super smart move from Meech. By joining the competition, you're only more powerful. It's a mutually beneficial situation for everybody involved.
Meanwhile, Southwest T is staying out of the drama. He has a girlfriend and baby to look after, wants to care for his parents, and is still suffering from permanent eye damage. If you remember, he was shot in season one and his eye was botched in a bad surgery. He decides to start a car service with his Father, meaning he is now safer away from gangs and shootings. We see Meech giving him grief for this decision, but we already know that Southwest T eventually reunites with Meech - we can't wait to see when this happens.
Meech and Southwest T's relationship is tense and frail. We see Meech throw a wad of cash at Southwest T as he gets in the back of one of his cars. It's clear throughout the episode that they are not on good terms. I can only assume that Meech begins to struggle without Southwest T. They made a great team, with them balancing each other out perfectly. Specifically, Southwest T was always more level-headed and much better at making rational decisions. Meech is a little hot-headed. Reuniting might be in their best interest even though it is sad to think that Southwest T could've carried on with his car service company and lived an honest life.
We are reminded that K-9 killed somebody over a basketball game. This little fact is worrying for the BMF crew as that seems a little extreme, right? Southwest T questions what he will do to them if they handle things wrong. Meech doesn't seem to have considered this. Do you think K-9 being on Meech's team is a good thing?
We see that K-9 kills a basketball coach over a little disagreement. We also learn that K-9 killed Big L and he lets Meech know by gifting him her lips. Yes, he removes her lips and gives them to him. These are all red flags, to say the very least.
We are also introduced to Detective Bryant. He has B-Mickie's gun, which means he can now blackmail him to give him all the information he needs. Will B-Mickie be tempted by Bryant's blackmail? We know that Bryant is still around for Southwest T's arrest in 2005 so this will interesting to see how it plays out.
Possibly the biggest shock to BMF Season 2 is that Lamar is still alive. We thought he died in a shootout at the end of season one. Bryant and another officer have him under hospital supervision - they are hoping that he wakes up. This is bad news for all the BMF gang. It leaves everybody at risk, even Southwest T and his family. We know that Lamar will likely go to extreme lengths to tear BMF apart and so this is bad news for everybody involved.
So, it's fair to say that BMF Season 2 was packed with intense storylines. What did you think of this episode?
