Fargo season 5 episode 8 Recap
1: Danish successfully ruins Roy's chance at election.
The episode starts off with the Danish lawyer present in the notary office trying to get three men's names changed to Roy. We got a clue about this in the episode 8 promo, but now we know why it was so.
It was part of Danish's plan to humiliate Roy in public and tarnish his image, which would ruin his chance of winning the election at all. It was Lorraine's order to avenge Roy.
But to be honest, Danish just had to trigger Roy Tillman, and he himself showed his real face and ended up slapping the woman conducting the debate conference.
This left Roy furious when he later realized what his impulsive actions were going to cost him. The election.
2: Roy hostages Dot at his ranch.
Roy takes Dot hostage straight from the hospital, though the fierce Dot does not skip her chance to use her wit. She writes the message of help on the form where she had to sign, but all goes in vain in the presence of Roy.
Though at the end, Dot succeeds in picking up a small, sharp pin from the reception desk that would come to her help later.
Roy takes Dot to his ranch and chains her up, after which the two talk. Dot fiercely tells him that she will get out of his hold, while Roy keeps telling her that she vowed to him and broke the promise by running away, making it clear that he isn’t letting her go.
Roy really seems to be lost in his own world of wrong and right, and there is no good in Dot giving him the reasons to convince him to let her go.
3: Dot pleas to Gator
After Roy left Dot alone chained to attend the debate, Dot, being Dot, put in her all and successfully freed her one chained leg. But right when she hears Gator approaching her, she hides her leg under the cover and sits up straight.
Dot tells Gator about meeting his mother, Linda, and promises to take him to her if he releases her. Though Gator initially gets emotional upon hearing about his mother and hears her out intently, he dismisses her claim at the end, saying it's all lies.
Right when he is about to exit, Dot questions him about why he hadn't been named Roy after his father, Roy Tillman. This stops Gator midway, and Dot continues telling him how Roy felt ashamed of Gator right from his birth and decided not to name him after himself.
Gator exits, but it definitely hurts him from within, as he seemed all furious and frustrated after that.
Would Gator confront Roy about this or not?

It's finally closure for Indrani's unfulfilled marriage with Lars, and it's all good for her because it's only her in the marriage who puts in the effort while her husband does the work of complaining constantly.
It happens when the sudden arrival of Indrani at home leads her to catch Lars cheating on her with another woman.
She doesn't lose her cool, but straight away she tells him to leave the house before she returns from the work shift.
She went on to tell him how useless and pathetic he has been in the marriage, and we couldn't agree more with her!
5: Witt Fur and Indrani are on a mission to help Dot.
Witt Fur encounters Dot with Roy at the hospital, but after his failed attempt to rescue her, he calls Indrani and informs her about Dot.
Indrani plans with Fur and finds out about Dot's location. After she finds out that Dot has been kept hostage at Roy's ranch, she goes straight to Lorraine, and they both begin the work for Dot's rescue.
6: Roy assaults Dot again.
Right after his humiliation from the debate conference, furious Roy goes straight to Dot and hits her up. Injured Dot does not leave her hope and strength, as she hops on her opportunity immediately and attacks him.
After struggling for some time, Roy frees himself from our Tiger, Dot, and just when it seemed like he would kill her, Danish's sudden arrival saves Dot.
And it's right then that he confesses to Dot that he would bury her right next to Linda, meaning he had killed and buried Linda.
7: Roy kills Danish
Danish arrives at Roy's ranch to rescue Dot, but he does it in his own way. So, he straight up goes to confront Roy and was just talking to him, convincing him to release Dot in exchange for regaining his hold in the election, when the furious Roy shoots him with his gun and kills him.
8: Dot loses hope.
At the end, the scared Dot peeks out through the small window as Roy's men bring Danish's dead body near a windmill and slide away a big circular can, revealing a large pit. She witnesses them throwing away the body in it and covering it up again.
Linda's death and watching Danish's dead body scare Dot more and make her doubt if she will be able to get out of Roy’s hold alive.
And we also have the same question looking at the ending of the episode.
