How the newcomer Margot Robbie outdid Blake Lively and Amber Heard to do Naomi Lapaglia

Here’s what distinguished Margot Robbie from Blake Lively and Amber Heard and won her Naomi Lapaglia in The Wolf of Wall Street.

Though Margot Robbie is a big name in the industry now, it was not always the case, especially when the actress started her acting career. Grabbing a role in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street against A-list Titanic actor Leonardo DiCaprio did take something special in her. Explore what the Barbie actor did that made her the right choice for Naomi Lapaglia.

It is reported that at the time when the makers of The Wolf of Wall Street were out finding the right person for Naomi Lapaglia, there were more top contenders on the list other than the fresh and newcomer Margot Robbie, whose film score back then was only two.

Two of the top contenders were none other than Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively and DC star Amber Heard. Then how did Robbie end up with the role in The Wolf of Wall Street?

Well, some foreign-based magazines say that it was how good Margot Robbie did Naomi Lapaglia that set her on an upper level than others. She improvised the character of Naomi Lapaglia each time and brought up more in her than asked for, which made Martin Scorsese and his team believe that she would make the right choice.

Specifically, there was a scene in which Robbie was to argue with DiCaprio, but the Barbie actor went a step ahead and ended up punching the A-lister in the face to improvise the scene.

Though later she regretted the move and feared that it might lead to her losing the role, little did she know that her bold and out-of-the-box move would set her apart from others, bringing her a breakthrough role in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street.

It made the filmmaker realize that it was only Margot who could do justice to Naomi Lapaglia, and that led to a major turning point for Robbie in her career.
