Paul Thomas Anderson onboards Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn for his next film.

A-listers Academy winners DiCaprio and Sean Penn are set to feature in Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film this year.

In a recent report by Deadline, it was revealed that Paul Thomas Anderson has boarded DiCaprio and Penn for his next project, which will have an ensemble cast along with the Scary Movie series actress Regina Hall.

The title of the film is not set yet, but it is to be produced by Warner Bros. Picture Group. Although the title remains undisclosed, the filming for this ensemble-cast project is set to begin this month in California.

Anderson has written the script for the movie and will produce it with Sara Murphy and Adam Somner. Though the makers are keeping a lot about the project under wraps, what else is known about it is that it will be a commercial one in a contemporary setting.

While DiCaprio, Penn, and Hall are set to play lead roles in the untitled film, there will be an ensemble cast in it that is yet to be revealed.

PTA’s film Licorice Pizza was a success, as it received three Oscar nominations in the categories of Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Director.

This is going to mark DiCaprio’s first project with Paul Thomas Anderson in his career, though the Killers of the Flower Moon star was roped in for Anderson’s 1996 film Boggie Nights. But the role finally went to Mark Wahlberg, while DiCaprio was busy with Titanic shooting.

DiCaprio’s Killers of the Flower Moon won a Golden Globe award out of a total of seven Golden Globe nominations.

Penn’s recent work includes Daddio, in which he starred with Dakota Johnson. He was also a part of the comedy-drama film Gonzo Girl.

Hall recently starred in Peacock’s The Best Man: The Final Chapter and Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul, a fest film.
