Highlights of Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 2 that you should not miss!
SPOILER Alert!
Stefano puts Raq on her last job.
As the last episode ended with Unique and Raq together in her home at night, this episode starts right off there, and we get to see the two talking when some gunned men enter and kidnap them both.
It was no one but Stefano's men. Then, when Stefano sees them, he gets confused as to who the other man with Raq was, but he gets on with his business as he sends away Unique and talks to Raq alone.
Stefano tells Raq that he wants her to kill Sal, upon which Raq tells him about her decision to quit the mafia world. But she had to change her decision for one last time when Stefano warned her that if she didn't get Sal killed herself, he would get together with Sal and get her family killed.
Kanan gets into the drug business.
As was clear in the last episode, Kanan has made up his mind to make his own money anyhow, and he takes one step ahead in that when he collaborates with a local drug supplier from his building. But Kanan isn't going to be a drug supplier to make money; rather, he is going to be the one who gets the business done in exchange for commissions that he would give off to the supplier boys.
Kanan doesn't like Howard killing Burke.
Raq surprises Kanan with a new car as a way to mend things between them, but when the two take a ride in the new car, Kanan asks her if Howard killed her. When Raq tells him the truth, Kanan doesn't approve of them killing someone for no big reason.
He gets out of the car and tells Raq that he likes the car, but he would buy one himself.
Howard's new threat
This episode features a mourning ceremony held by the police department in view of Detective Burke’s death, in which Howard himself gives a false speech, acting like a decent person. We get to know that Burke's death was shown as suicide, which she attempted because of the dirt that had gotten around her name recently.
But Burke's girlfriend, Adina Foyle, tries to talk to Burke's father and the head of police in an attempt to share something concerning Burke's death, but all goes in vain as both rebuff her and tell her not to talk to her again. It seems like, of all, Adina is the one who would fight over the truth of Burke’s death, which had been given the look of suicide.
Howard sees Adina contacting them and becomes suspicious of the threat she can pose to him in the coming days.
Juke quits singing.
Juke goes to her Uncle Sam, who is a police officer, to ask how she can become one. He tells her all the tests that would be required, and Juke fills out the form.
Later, when she gets home, she finds Mr. Bingham at her home, who tells her about a singing audition that he thinks she would be perfect for. But to his shock, Juke denies saying she had quit singing. This also startles Marvin, but Juke doesn't give anyone a solid reason. So, we see that Juke has now changed her goal from singing to becoming an officer. But will she keep up with this decision, or will her love for singing bring her back to her passion? Yet to see.
The FBI warns Sal.
Prior to Sal's death, a team of FBI agents reached him and warned him that his life was in danger and his friends were on a mission to kill him. They had come to offer him a deal that could save him, but Sal rejected their proposal and sent them away. But later we see Sal knew the news could be right, as later we see him spending some quality time with his wife, telling her how much he loves her, probably in fear of getting killed.
Marvin kills Sal.
Raq gets Marvin on the job to kill Sal. Marvin first contacts Lou-Lou for assistance, but the latter denies it. He then steals a mail van to use on the job. He reaches the church where Sal was with his wife and his grandkid. The moment Marvin got the chance, he shot at Sal and killed him.
Ronnie's on something
Ever since Ronnie got out, he has been quite giving the impression that he is planning something big. He does not like how things have changed, and he feels powerless. He stays silent, lost in thoughts most of the time, which even made Unique's wife feel unsafe.
Lou-Lou helps Juke with her audition
At the end of the episode, we see Juke going to Lou's house where she asks him to help her with her audition. When she expresses that there are chances that she is not sure about it, her uncle Lou-Lou insists her to go for it. He says that she is going to do it and will win it. This makes Juke happier and the two start preparing for it together.
Unique meets Stefano for business
Unique's first meet up with Stefano was not good, which was when the latter kidnapped Raq and Unique. The two had a heated argument. But later, Unique goes to Stefano and asks him to get into business with him. The two get on better terms.
