Smiling friends season 2 Professor Psychotic

In Season 2, Episode 5 of ‘Smiling Friends,’ the characters assist a mad scientist with an egg-related experiment. The episode begins with a typical workplace issue: the television set is malfunctioning. Allan, Charlie, Pim, and Glep are watching a documentary featuring two obese men floating in space, surrounded by ham, and fighting over a piece of it. Allan, disinterested, attempts to change the channel because he wants updates on the war, but Charlie informs him that both the TV buttons and the remote are broken. When the alarm sounds, Charlie admits he had completely forgotten about it, and Pim agrees, suggesting they have grown too accustomed to its silence. Meanwhile, Glep, comfortably seated on the couch, eats a bowl of cereal, apparently unaffected by the noise.

The alarm signals Charlie and Pim to report to their boss’s office. In the following scene, they stand in Mr. Boss’s office. He informs the team about their latest client, Jared Fogle, and emphasizes their policy of never denying assistance to those in need. Despite Charlie and Pim’s expressions of surprise and disbelief, Mr. Boss insists they must help. However, he then reveals it was a prank. Charlie expresses his disapproval, stating such humor is inappropriate, and Pim agrees, noting Jared Fogle’s notoriety. Seeking clarity, Pim asks if there is an actual task. Mr. Boss informs them they must assist a mad scientist with an egg dilemma. Charlie is skeptical, suspecting another prank, but Mr. Boss assures him it is a legitimate job. Ultimately, both Pim and Charlie agree to undertake the task.

In the next scene, Pim and Charlie go through a tunnel that leads them to a laboratory. Upon arrival, they witness a homunculus hatching , which then dies immediately afterward. The mad scientist, agitated by the outcome of the experiment, crushes the worm with a book titled ‘The God Illusion.’ Pim and Charlie, shocked by this, inquire about his intentions behind killing the creature. He turns to greet them and introduces himself as Professor Psychotic. He reveals that he is conducting an experiment in which he injects his psychotic DNA into a chicken egg to create a living homunculus, with the aim of taking over the world as a mad scientist. He wants Pim and Charlie to work as his assistants.

Professor Psychotic is interrupted by his brother, who urges him to keep his voice down. His brother is watching a romantic movie with his girlfriend, and they are being disturbed by Professor Psychotic’s loud discourse about his DNA injecting experiment. The brother bluntly declares Professor Psychotic’s experiment is foolish and a waste of time. He advises him to seek a real job that pays. In response, Professor Psychotic argues that the current economic climate makes finding employment challenging. The heated exchange culminates with the roommate evicting the mad scientist from the house

The scientist, now homeless, is visibly distressed, pacing to and fro, contemplating his situation. Charlie and Pim step aside and converse in Spanish, ensuring that the scientist cannot understand their plan to assist him Charlie suggests that the scientist’s real issue lies with his brotherly conflict, not the pursuit of creating a homunculus. . Pim agrees to approach the brother, hoping to persuade him to let the scientist stay, while Charlie resolves to dissuade the scientist from his eccentric egg experiment. Unbeknownst to them, Professor Psychotic, seated nearby, overhears their strategy and reveals his understanding of Spanish, catching them by surprise with his awareness of their intentions.

In the next scene, Charlie and the scientist are sitting in a restaurant, having a conversation. The scientist expresses his sadness over the fact that his brother has kicked him out, as he sees nothing wrong with his mad scientist experiment. However, Charlie counters that his brother’s stance is justified, pointing out that the Scientist’s fixation on these radical experiments has thrown his life into disarray, even leading to his own eviction. Professor Psychotic asks him what else he would do with his life, and Charlie suggests that he try creating life with a woman and have kids. The mad scientist tells him that he has trouble talking to women, so he can’t pursue that idea. Charlie attempts to boost his confidence by encouraging him to talk to a woman there, but Professor Psychotic scares the waitress by telling her about his experiment. Charlie informs Professor Psychotic that this is not how it works.

Meanwhile, In the next scene, Pim tries to talk to his brother Doug, who is working at a construction site. Pim asks Doug to give his brother another chance. Doug reveals that he works fourteen hours a day to support both of them, while his brother wastes time on failed experiments. Pim suggests that if they sit down for a friendly chat over a cup of tea, they might be able to resolve their issues and move past their differences. However, Doug is frustrated with Pim’s interference. He explains that since their mother’s funeral, they have been at odds. Daniel (also known as Professor Psychotic) took all the inheritance money—a total of $80,000—and used it to build his science lab. Despite feeling sorry for Doug’s situation, Pim continues to encourage him to give his brother another chance. Doug remains firm in his decision. Just then, a goblin named Mathew, who works at the construction site, is crushed by a falling crate. Another goblin, revealed to be Mathew’s brother, rushes to mourn his death. He explains that he and Mathew were caught up in a sibling feud, but now he regrets not moving past their drama. Love for his brother outweighs the feud. Witnessing this, Doug agrees to see Daniel.

Doug and Daniel sit in the living room, with Pim and Charlie sitting behind them to ensure that it goes smoothly. Doug reads from a paper and apologizes to Daniel for kicking him out, wishing him the best. Charlie asks Daniel to say something in return. Daniel tells Doug that he is sorry for giving away all of their stuff and explains that it was his addiction to painkillers that caused the change in his behavior. Doug reveals that Daniel is the reason he takes painkillers. This revelation angers Daniel, who points out that Doug was so high all the time that he missed their mother’s last dying moments. Doug loses his cool, and they both start fighting. The brawl leads them into the lab, where an egg hatches. A homunculus resembling the mad scientist emerges from the egg and identifies both of them as his fathers. Daniel and Doug stop fighting and decide to raise the homunculus, putting aside their differences and aiming to be better parents than their mother was to them. They hug and apologise to each other.

The episode concludes with Charlie admitting that the chaotic world they live in stresses him out, while Pim tries to cheer him up. In the post-credit scene, Mr. Boss is crying, and Allan assumes it’s because of the movie they were watching. However, Mr. Boss reveals that he is upset because he can’t change his face back to normal from the puppy dog face. Despite Allan’s attempts at solace, Mr. Boss reacts sharply, akin to a ferocious dog
