The chi season 6 ,episode 14 ,is titled Smoke and Mirrors. It is airing on Paramount+.

The episode begins with Victor experiencing a flashback during his sleep, abruptly awakened by a loud bang on his door. Armed and fearful, he opens the door to find Jake, who has brought breakfast to check on him during his house arrest.
Nuck arrives at Emmett’s home amidst a family photo session for Halloween. He expresses a desire to take Ronnie trick-or-treating. Despite Emmett’s reservations, Keisha consents, acknowledging Nuck as Ronnie’s father.
As Emmett and the children return from trick-or-treating, a dispute arises between Nuck and Emmett regarding their differing parenting styles.
Marcus decides to spend the night out with friends, leaving Tierra feeling neglected and desiring to spend the evening together.
Jake throws a party at Victor’s house to cheer him up. Papa and Shaad are also seen at the party.
Gardner confronts Douda about breaking Bakari’s laptop, urging him to let Bakari choose his own path. Douda becomes irritated, reminding Gardner that their shared high school history doesn’t mean he truly knows him. Gardner retorts, accusing Douda of being the same bully he was in school, corrupting young boys for his own satisfaction, to their detriment. An angered Douda orders him to leave, but Gardner persists, advocating for Bakari’s independence.
Alicia informs Bradley of her disbelief over Alonzo’s murder and hints at knowing the perpetrator. Bradley reflects on Alonzo’s numerous enemies due to his legal profession. Alicia suggests that a ruling in Victor’s favour could benefit both him and Bradley, given Victor’s community influence and the potential impact on Bradley’s Seventh Circuit Court nomination.
Papa leads a Halloween night congregation at church, where he and Zeke appeal for donations to construct a youth centre.
The episode features typical interactions among minor characters.
Victor and Shaad debate their trust in Alicia.
Marcus and Tierra’s argument escalates when Marcus returns home late.
In court, the judge exonerates Victor, citing the FBI’s failure to provide substantial evidence, resulting in case dismissal.
Ezekiel discreetly hands Papa a portion of the charity event’s proceeds, rationalizing their entitlement as servants of the Lord’s work. Papa insists that all funds should support the youth center, but Ezekiel argues they deserve a portion for their divine efforts.
Victor discovers Alicia’s role in swaying the judge’s decision to dismiss his case.
Roselyn assists Serena in acquiring a gun through Douda for protection.
Gardner advises Bakari to halt his book project, fearing Douda’s wrath and potential harm.
Nuck and Keisha deliberate over Ronnie’s health at Emmett’s dining table.
Darnell visits Emmett at his diner and tells him that he wants him to hire someone. Upon Emmett’s inquiry, he explains that this man went to jail for his half-brother Damien and it’s important. He also tells Emmett that Damien attempted to rob a store with two other people and got arrested. Emmett hires him for the janitor job as it’s the only position available at the moment.
Britney tells Jemma and Maisha that she works for Douda and is currently spying on her brother Bakari for him. Jemma and Maisha urge Britney to tell Bakari the truth.
Nina and Lynae reflect on relationships over tea.
Damien apologizes to Keith for going to jail on his behalf. Keith is disappointed to see him working there, as he had hoped Damien would have pursued further studies and found a better job than working at a diner.
Jake asks Tatiana when he can see her again, but she tells him she has a busy week, so they can’t meet
During Alicia’s visit, Douda reveals her son’s failed attempt on his life. When Douda threatens Alicia, Shaad intervenes with a gun, compelling Douda to back down.
