What happens in The L Word: Generation Q Season 3 Episode 8? Read here to find out.
It's time for our weekly recap of The L Word. The third season has packed some punches and this episode did not disappoint. It was so hard to look away at moments and ended on one of the most worrying cliffhangers.
As a little context, this whole episode is based on Thanksgiving - making it filled with emotion, family, and drama as every holiday usually is.
There is a lot to unpack from The L Word: Generation Q Season 3 Episode 8, so let's just dive right in. As always, this will include spoilers, so if you haven't watched it already, make your way to Showtime and catch up first.
Let's jump in.
What happened in The L Word: Generation Q Season 3 Episode 8?
We start on another sunny day, which is seemingly becoming a bad omen for the L Word bunch. It is a happy moment, though with our favourite Carrie explaining to Finley that she's invited Misty to a run. She calls Finley out for texting Sophie - could they rekindle after all? I am loving how Carrie has taken on this maternal role for Finley, it's so comforting. Carrie and Misty head on out to their run together.
Finley notices that Tess is back at work a day early (we assume because she doesn't want to be alone). In last week's episode, we found out that her mother had sadly passed away. Finley comforts her, only to then be surprised by the arrival of her mum who turns up at her work. This isn't a welcomed surprise. Later on, we hear her friend call Finley's mum a bigot which is a great description of her.
A Little later we see that Finley rings Sophie, asking her to come to the restaurant.
Flash to Dani and Dre who have spent the night together. Dre is telling Dani how excited she is to see her family. Unfortunately, a storm means that she is stuck as she can't fly out. Dani tells her to stay with her, making it as homely as possible. Dre is disappointed but is happy to be with Dani.
Then, we jump to Angie who sees her ex Hendrix with a new girl. She is upset by this interaction and runs away. She then rants to Shane about him, stating that she believes that he was with that girl while they were seeing each other. Shane gives some advice. Then they see Hendrix with the new girl, he grabs her waist and hip seemingly confirming that they are together.
Sophie convinces her family to go to the restaurant. She insists that she is just being a friend to Finley. To be fair, Finley does need a group of friends around her right now - she is visibly distressed about her mother who is being outright rude to her already. Micah takes a gummy to help with his anxiety which causes him to get the munchies - this will become relevant later on, I promise.
This is also when the ring that Maribel was going to propose to Micah with gets lost in one of the Thanksgiving dishes. I'm still unsure how I feel about this relationship so anything that slows down a proposal is good for me.
We jump to Carrie and Misty who are mid-run/walk. Carrie's boss appears and asks who Misty is. Carrie introduces her as her girlfriend which seems to freak Misty out a little bit who then jogs ahead of Carrie. Carrie tries to run too but is struggling a little.
Flash to the restaurant where Sophie and Maribel's family have all gathered at the restaurant. Micah gets a text that states that a donor match has been confirmed. There's a little drama between Finley and her mother, which is where she announces that she is leaving her Father. Finley is in shock.
Dre and Dani are having an intimate Thanksgiving. Dani opens up to Dre about her mother's passing and the fact that her Father is in jail. They decide to make their way to the restaurant with the rest of the gang.
Finley tries to open up to her Mother, and apologises to her, except it blows up in her face when her Mother is typically rude to her. Sophie comforts her.
Angie sees her book in Hendrix's car. She smashes the window and Shane helps her retrieve the book. Hendrix instantly realises that it was Angie when he sees the book is missing.
Carrie and Misty end up at the restaurant, where Carrie witnesses her Mum making distasteful comments to Finley. Carrie tells her to leave, which is where we see Finley acknowledging the family that she deserves - especially Carrie as her step-in mother.
The L Word: Generation Q Season 3 Episode 8 Ending
Things take a dark turn as Carrie's arm starts to hurt and she collapses to the ground. The episode ends with Finley desperately trying to revive Carrie while she's on the phone with 911.
Maribel proposes to Micah - turns out she found the ring.
This was an episode jam-packed with so much drama - how can all this happen in one day? What did you think of this episode?
[…] episode starts in a hospital. Yes, we are cruelly reminded that Carrie suffered a heart attack in episode 8 and we aren't sure about her health. It's super tense – the doctors are talking, hospital equipment […]
