In You People 2023 Ending Eddie Murphy and Jonah Hill play an unlikely father-and-son-in-law pair in the movie You People. Hill, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kenya Barris (who also directed), portrays the mid-thirties Ezra, who is trapped in a job he hates while pursuing his love, a culture podcast with his best buddy Mo, in which the two — a white-Jewish and a Black — talk culture with a solidly comedic tone.
To do just that, Ezra and his girlfriend Amira (Lauren London) are working. They are genuinely excellent for one another, and the movie spends time showing how their bond develops in a way that makes you think they are actually a pair.

Ezra longs for company but is unable to meet someone who genuinely gets him.
He believes Amira's car to be a cab, which is fate in action. He offers to drive her there as an atonement, and they end up getting along.
Amira, who recently broke up with Chris, her boyfriend, finds Ezra to be all she needs. The two start dating, but there is a tremendous barrier in their way.
Ezra is from a Jewish household, and Shelley and Arnold make an effort to act casual around black people. They end up making racist remarks because they are so fascinated by the culture.
Black Muslims Akbar and Fatima are the parents of Amira, and they have never been able to forgive white people for enslaving black people.
Ezra attempts to ask Amira's parents for their daughter's hand in marriage by inviting them to lunch, but it backfires as he ends up uttering bigoted remarks of his own.
He apologises to Amir, who is thrilled about his plan to pop the question. The two eventually become engaged as a result of him carrying it out without her parents.
Ezra decides to leave his job and work full-time on podcasting with Mo, and Amira fully supports him in this decision.
At dinner, the two decide to help their families get along. However, things quickly spiral out of control when the two sides start to argue. While Ezra's parents disagree about their personal struggles, Amira's parents feel that white people have it easier.
The pair thinks they need to spend more time together despite the chaos. While Amira travels with Shelley, Ezra goes out with Akbar.
Akbar tries to intimidate Ezra the entire time and surround him with black people to make him feel uneasy, but he manages it well.
To Shelley's chagrin, she continues to unintentionally support Amira while also acting prejudiced.
He learns that Ezra and his friends use cocaine during his bachelor party. At the same time, Shelley wrecks Amira's celebration by acting as normal and even unintentionally removing one of her friends' wigs.
Akbar does not reveal Ezra during his toast, despite what he witnessed at the bachelor party. Instead, he speaks well of Ezra as a person.
When Ezra attempts to express gratitude for the remarks, he responds that his daughter was the only reason he chose not to expose him. He is still adamant that Ezra is not the right man for his daughter.
Finally, Ezra has had enough. He berates Akbar for consistently being harsh on him when all he wanted was to get along with him. His love for his daughter is sincere.
Similar to that, Amira tells Shelley what's on her mind. She started making racial remarks the moment she saw Amira's culture with delight.
Ezra and Amira have a discussion and realise that although though they had a wonderful relationship, now is the time to call it quits because they will never get along with each other's parents.
The podcast that Ezra and Mo started three months after calling off their wedding has achieved great popularity. She had earlier mentioned that black and white people would never be fashionable.
He brings that up.
She used the example of a relationship in which the man had cheated and the lady was unable to go on because she could no longer trust him. Due to their prior experience with slavery, black people do not trust white people.
Ezra claims that before he met Amira, he honestly thought she was mistaken. Despite how much they desired to be together, external obstacles prevented it from happening.
He finally realises his folly when Akbar's brother comes honest and tells him that he was too harsh on Ezra and never gave him a chance.
There has been a void between Amira and Ezra. Shelley and Akbar arrange a "accidental" meeting to resolve the issue one day.
While Shelley tells Amira that she didn't realise how much she wounded her during her excitement, Akbar apologises to Ezra for being so harsh on him.
They also have a surprise for them; an unplanned wedding. With the support of their families, the two ultimately get married.
In the end, Akbar and Shelley watch their contented kids while making an apparent effort to get along with one another.
