MobLand Season 2 - Everything We Know So Far

When MobLand dropped on Paramount+ in March 2025, no one expected a gritty British crime drama to make this much noise so fast. With Ronan Bennett’s sharp writing and Guy Ritchie’s fierce style behind the camera, MobLand didn’t just hit—it detonated. Now, as season 1 careens toward a blood-soaked finale, fans are left buzzing with the big question: Is MobLand Season 2 officially happening?

Tom Hardy Confirms Mobland Season 2 Plans Are Brewing: “Does It Become International?”

Tom Hardy’s performance as Harry Da Souza—equal parts enforcer, chess player, and chaos agent—has become the show’s spine. Recently, Hardy teased what could lie ahead; while confirming that MobLand was never meant to be a miniseries, he hinted that season 2 may blow the doors wide open on global crime.

He speculated, “Does it become international?” and then elaborated on smuggling routes from Africa to South America, Pakistan to Europe, and hinted at a “world stage” where crime families don’t just fight for territory—but for power in the global black market.

Hardy’s comments suggest that MobLand season 2 could evolve into a pan-continental criminal epic, opening the door for new characters, global syndicates, and high-stakes geopolitics.

Hardy's full statement:

"The plan is definitely to see more seasons. The question is: Does it become international? There are international elements to organized crime, which are touched on in season one. The control of drugs and ammunition and weapons and people and all kinds of things that go through Europe and from Africa through to South America, Pakistan… and the variable commodities that move around Europe.

There are families that are involved in each European country that are vying for power to have that status to be able to move these kinds of commodities through. And who polices that and how that fits into a world stage."

Season 1: A Powder Keg Ready to Explode

Currently, season 1 is a masterclass in tension. The Harrigans and Stevensons, two of London’s most vicious crime families, are entrenched in a turf war that’s obliterating everything in its path. But even as bullets fly, viewers are beginning to sense that the real enemy might not be across the street—but across the border.

From corrupt politicians to whispers of Albanian traffickers and Eastern European arms dealers, the show is littered with subtle nods to a larger world. Season 2 may turn those whispers into roars.

Renewal Still Pending—But Don’t Panic

Despite its success, Paramount+ hasn’t given the official green light for season 2. But the delay isn’t unusual; streaming platforms often wait for full season analytics before making renewal decisions. With MobLand trending across social platforms and attracting attention from critics and fans alike, it's hard to imagine Paramount+ walking away from this gold mine.

Plus, the show fits neatly into Paramount+'s growing library of adult-focused dramas like Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, and Dexter: Original Sin. Add in MobLand’s unique British grit, and you've got a global expansion opportunity just waiting to be seized.

Who Might Return—and Who Might Not Survive?

Tom Hardy’s return feels like a lock, not just because he leads the show, but because he lives in this character. Hardy is reportedly deeply involved in the creative direction, making him more than just the star—he’s a cornerstone of the franchise.

Helen Mirren (as the cunning matriarch Maeve Harrigan) and Pierce Brosnan (as ruthless patriarch Conrad Harrigan) also anchor the story. But given how unpredictable the show is, no one—not even the leads—are truly safe. Expect more shocking deaths, and possibly even double-crosses from within the family ranks.

With Hardy teasing international expansion, we may also see Italian mobsters, Russian oligarchs, or even cartel bosses from Medellín or Lagos enter the frame. New enemies. New alliances. Bigger betrayals.

What Could Mobland Season 2 Explore?

Season 1 revolves around the blood-soaked rivalry between the Harrigans and the Stevensons—two powerhouse crime families fighting for London’s underworld. But MobLand has never played it safe, and with multiple major characters at risk, don’t be surprised if the finale leaves the city in ashes.

If the Harrigan-Stevenson feud ends (or pauses), season 2 could pivot to a new global threat, with Hardy’s Harry acting as the bridge between fractured factions and rising foreign crime lords. There's potential for the series to expand beyond London, introducing new players from international cartels battling for control over Europe’s underground economy.

The MobLand Empire Is Only Just Beginning

MobLand season 1 has delivered on every front—sharp dialogue, layered characters, and jaw-dropping twists. And while Paramount+ hasn't made the call yet, all signs point toward a second season that raises the stakes tenfold.

If season 1 was about London’s underworld, season 2 might be about the world under London. With Tom Hardy at the helm, global ambitions on the horizon, and fans hungry for more, MobLand is one move away from becoming the next crime saga to define a generation.

Until then, buckle up. This ride is far from over.
