MobLand Episode 5 Preview and What to Expect

Things Might Finally Start to Snap in This Ticking Bomb of a Series

MobLand Is On Shaky Ground—But Maybe That's the Point
By the end of Episode 4, MobLand seems less like a crime saga and more like a game of broken telephones inside a luxury hearse. Despite being nearly halfway through the season, the plot feels increasingly fragmented, with characters driving in circles and dialogues that seem to go nowhere. Yet, as chaotic and underwhelming as the journey has been, Episode 5 might be where the sparks finally meet gasoline. With funeral plans underway, secrets on the verge of eruption, and everyone harboring grudges or hiding something, the next chapter has the potential to tie some knots—or unravel the whole thing finally.

A Funeral, A Flashpoint – Tommy’s Burial Could Explode Everything

The closing moments of Episode 4 teased Tommy’s funeral as the next big event, and let’s face it—MobLand doesn’t mention anything unless it's going to get messy. Richie, now deceived by Harry’s ruse, wants the Harrigans present at the funeral, and that smells like a trap drenched in gasoline.

Expect Episode 5 to use the funeral as its dramatic centerpiece. Funerals in mob shows aren’t for mourning—they’re for power moves, veiled threats, and emotional flashpoints. Will Richie use the moment to test Harry’s loyalty? Or will someone else crash the party—maybe Maeve, whose boiling resentment over Bella and Conrad’s past is clearly not going to stay under wraps for long? Either way, this could be the first time the show's simmering tension turns into real consequences.

Secrets and Informants – Will Episode 5 Finally Reveal the Rat?

Episode 4 was titled Rat Trap for a reason, even if it barely made a noise. There's someone in the Harrigan crew leaking information—but the identity of the rat is still up in the air. Episode 5 may finally start dropping concrete clues. Kevin, with his disturbing backstory newly revealed, might be emotionally spiraling into instability. Could he be the informant, consciously or unconsciously? Or is this a setup for Maeve to take matters into her own hands, assuming someone close has betrayed them?

Also, we can’t forget Conrad. He’s been labeled evil since the beginning, but we’ve yet to actually see him do anything definitively vile. If he’s really the snake in the grass, Episode 5 could finally let him shed the skin and show fangs—possibly targeting Harry or even Bella to reassert control.

Bella, Conrad, and the Hidden Emotional Time Bomb
Speaking of Bella, Episode 5 needs to address the glaring omission: she and Conrad have not even appeared onscreen together despite everyone talking about their past. That kind of narrative weight doesn’t just get dropped—MobLand is clearly saving it. Expect the two to finally share a scene, and possibly reveal the real nature of their past and what it means for everyone else. Maeve, who already has a fuse burning, may just explode if the interaction crosses the wrong lines.

Harry, meanwhile, continues to wear his mask of indifference. But now that he knows about Bella and Conrad—and knowing Harry’s emotional volcano is overdue to erupt—Episode 5 might push him to take a risky step, either by confronting Conrad or pulling away from his own allies.

Will MobLand Episode 5 Right the Ship or Sink It Deeper?

Episode 5 has a lot riding on it. The series has set the stage for chaos, but it desperately needs to deliver on emotional stakes, character agency, and actual plot movement. With a funeral in the pipeline, betrayals lurking, and tensions sizzling under the surface, this might finally be the episode where MobLand stops whispering and starts shouting. Here's hoping it doesn’t waste the moment—because after this, there won’t be many left.
