Fans of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black have one very important reason to celebrate: the Bellarie family is not going anywhere just yet.
Netflix has officially renewed Beauty in Black for Season 4, and the news came as a genuine surprise. The series was previously expected to end with its third season, so many viewers assumed the upcoming episodes would be the final chapter for Kimmie, Mallory and the rest of the chaotic Bellarie family.
Netflix confirmed the renewal on July 23, 2026, ahead of Season 3's premiere. Tyler Perry also confirmed that there was still much more of the Bellarie story that he wanted to explore.
So, when can fans actually expect Season 4? That is where things get a little complicated.
When is Beauty in Black Season 4 coming out?
As of now, Netflix has not announced an official release date for Season 4.
It means any specific date circulating online should be treated carefully. There is currently no confirmed month, day or even release window from Netflix.
What we do know is that the fourth season is officially happening. Netflix made that clear before Season 3 even arrived on the platform, which is a pretty strong sign that the streamer has confidence in the series and wants the Bellarie story to continue.
Season 3 premieres on August 27, 2026, so fans should not expect Season 4 immediately. The production process will still need to take place after the third season, and Netflix will likely announce the release date much closer to the actual premiere.
If the production follows a similar schedule to previous seasons, sometime in 2027 could be a reasonable expectation. But for now, that is only an estimate and not an official Netflix release date.
Why was Beauty in Black Season 4 such a surprise?
This is probably the most interesting part of the story. Netflix had previously indicated that Season 3 would be the final season of Beauty in Black which made the Season 4 announcement feel like a twist straight out of the show itself.
Then, just before Season 3 arrived, Netflix reversed course and renewed the series. Tyler Perry confirmed the news himself, saying that the Bellarie family's story was far from finished and that there were still many things he wanted to explore.
What could Beauty in Black Season 4 be about?
Season 3 leaves behind plenty of unfinished business.
Kimmie has gradually transformed from a woman simply trying to survive into someone with genuine power inside the Bellarie empire. But the higher she climbs, the more enemies she creates her relationship with Horace is also complicated. She may have gained security and influence through him, but she is surrounded by secrets and people who would happily bring her down.
Then there is Mallory! Kimmie and Mallory's uneasy alliance could become one of the most important relationships in Season 4. They have very different personalities and motivations, but both understand that the Bellarie empire is under threat.
Season 3 also puts several characters in extremely dangerous situations, which means the fourth season could begin with some very major reveals.
The Season 3 storyline leaves several characters in uncertain situations, and the renewal gives Tyler Perry room to actually explore the consequences rather than rushing everything toward a final conclusion.
