The episode opens with Big Mike meeting with Reggie for the first time since Reggie survived the shooting. Reggie wants answers about what happened that night; Big Mike explains that he drove him to the hospital and believed he was going to die, so he never came back. Reggie is upset that Big Mike disappeared without checking on him, and the conversation quickly turns tense. Reggie also makes it clear that he does not trust Big Mike’s connection to Nuck, leaving the two men on shaky ground.
Jake picks up Victor and Rashad after their release from jail. Their freedom comes after Patience’s efforts to present evidence that helped clear them. Rashad insists he has no intention of ever returning to jail. The three head to Tiffany’s place, where the atmosphere is awkward because Tiffany and Victor have not seen each other since his incarceration. Tiffany reveals that she had been writing Victor letters while he was locked up. Nuck is visibly uncomfortable hearing that. Tiffany offers Rashad a job sweeping floors at the barbershop and gives Victor his old position back at her business.
During the same visit, Nuck brings out a duffel bag filled with cash that Alicia left behind. The conversation shifts to Alicia’s murder, with Rashad wanting to know who was responsible. Victor directly asks Nuck if he had anything to do with it, but Nuck denies the accusation. After Victor and Rashad leave, Nuck becomes more possessive around Tiffany, clearly worried about losing her now that Victor is back in the picture.
Victor later brings the duffel bag of money to Reggie’s house, where Reggie is gathered with his crew. Handing over the cash appears to smooth over tensions enough for Reggie to back off for the moment.
Elsewhere, Smitty, Nuck, and Big Mike discuss Rafi and the fact that Smitty has been involved with Rafi’s partner, Amaya. Although Amaya has expressed interest in reconciling with Rafi, the men focus on how difficult it has become to trust anyone. Smitty warns that even people close to them can become dangerous; Nuck insists that his own girlfriend would never betray him, though his expression suggests he is not entirely convinced.
The women’s support circle brings together Lynae, Keisha, Tiffany, Angie, Riley, and Zuri. The group reassures Tiffany that she is a good mother and encourages her as she raises EJ. The discussion eventually turns to the possibility of Tiffany having another child, specifically whether she would ever consider having one with Nuck. Lynae reacts strongly against the idea and openly calls Nuck a killer. Tiffany pushes back by pointing out that other men in their lives have violent pasts as well. When Zuri asks exactly whom Nuck killed, Lynae reveals that she believes Nuck murdered Pastor Zeke, leaving the room stunned.
Jake spends time with Papa, Desiree, and Lynae as Desiree tries to help him expand his business brand. She arranges photo shoots and promotional ideas that Jake finds frustrating, but he still goes along with it because he enjoys being around her.
After hearing the accusation from Tiffany, Nuck confronts Bari. He immediately realizes the information could only have come through Bari. When Bari enters the room, Nuck beats him and points a gun at him, but ultimately decides not to kill him. Instead, Nuck throws him out of the organization, leaving Bari without income or protection.
Papa’s grief continues to grow. Kenya notices that he has been smoking heavily and worries about him. Papa confesses that losing both Pastor Stanley and Pastor Zeke has made him fear that more people he loves will die. Kenya asks Emmett to talk to him. Emmett admits he is struggling with his own responsibilities, but he still sits down with Papa. The two discuss reviving the men’s circle as a way for Papa to deal with his stress and grief.
Bari confronts Lynae about revealing the accusation against Nuck. He explains that Nuck already attacked him because of it and warns that both of them could now be in danger. Lynae insists she spoke out because she cannot stand Nuck. Needing money, Bari turns to Emmett for help, Emmett gives him a job at Smokey’s, where Bari proves himself to be a hard worker, at least temporarily.
Riley takes Devonte to the Chicago Change Center for a group session with other children. Devonte quickly bonds with the kids, including Amaya and Rafi’s son. Riley tries to keep the environment positive, but the children’s language and behavior reflect the homes they come from. Keisha introduces herself as Devonte’s stepmother, and Devonte bluntly corrects her, saying she is not his stepmom because she and his father are not married; the comment catches everyone off guard.
Reggie shows up at Candace’s place with nowhere else to stay. He tells her that he loves her and asks to come back; Candace eventually lets him in, despite their recent problems.
Victor and Tiffany later have a private conversation. Victor acknowledges that if he had never gone to jail, her relationship with Nuck likely would not have happened. Tiffany admits that his absence changed everything; Victor also explains that he wants to avoid illegal activity moving forward, while Nuck remains deeply involved in it. The discussion makes it clear that unresolved feelings still exist between Victor and Tiffany.
The episode ends with the return of Sunny, who visits Emmett at Smokey’s. The two catch up, talk about Alicia’s funeral, and discuss Emmett’s plans for the future of the restaurant. Sunny encourages Emmett to think bigger as he considers expanding the Smokey’s brand.
