Ser Criston Cole's march appears to be reaching its breaking point. His army is exhausted, cut off from easy supply routes, and surrounded by enemies who know the land far better than his men. After admitting that he has already accepted death, Cole seems prepared to make one final stand instead of retreating. The next episode could see the Rivermen close in from every direction, forcing Cole into a desperate battle where survival is no longer the objective. Rather than chasing another victory, he may simply be fighting to preserve what remains of his honor. Instead, he may begin planning his next move against Rhaenyra while relying on Alys' mysterious knowledge of Harrenhal and its secrets. King's Landing may become even more unstable following Alicent and Helaena's disappearance beneath the Red Keep. Their failed escape leaves them trapped inside a maze of forgotten tunnels, and finding a way back could prove far more difficult than expected. Those hidden passages have played an important role throughout Targaryen history, and someone familiar with them could unknowingly stumble upon the two women. Rhaenyra, meanwhile, is unlikely to sit idle after Daemon uncovers the truth behind the murdered Gold Cloaks. Learning that Ormund Hightower has already begun advancing Daeron's claim changes the nature of the conflict entirely. Instead of merely defending her position, Rhaenyra may decide that a stronger military response is necessary before more of the realm declares for another king. Daemon's discovery could also lead him into the streets of King's Landing as he hunts those responsible for spreading fear among the city's defenders.
Prince Daeron himself may receive a much larger role. Episode 5 showed him learning the responsibilities of leadership under Ormund's guidance, but the lessons are unlikely to remain theoretical for long. If Ormund believes the time has come, Daeron could find himself leading soldiers for the first time or making decisions that test whether he truly possesses the qualities of a king. His growing importance also increases the chances of a direct clash between supporters of the Greens and Blacks.
Elsewhere, Addam and Baela's search for Vhagar feels destined to produce results. Whether they discover the legendary dragon or simply witness the destruction left in her wake, their mission seems too significant to continue without consequences. If Vhagar finally enters the battlefield again, the balance of power could shift in an instant, forcing every commander to rethink their strategy.
Aegon is also unlikely to abandon his obsession with revenge. His frustration continues to grow, and Larys Strong's patience appears to be wearing thin. Their strained relationship may soon reach a point where each begins working toward different goals. While Aegon remains focused on personal vengeance, Larys may quietly pursue plans that better serve his own survival, even if that means acting without the king's knowledge.
Episode 6 has all the signs of becoming the turning point the season has been building toward. The political maneuvering that dominated recent episodes appears ready to give way to open warfare, with several armies moving into position at the same time. Alliances will likely be tested, long-hidden secrets may come to light, and at least one major character could find themselves facing the consequences of choices made earlier in the season. If Episode 5 was about setting the board, Episode 6 looks ready to begin moving the biggest pieces.
